Run report #205 East Coast Park 26.05.2018

This week 56 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 11 were first timers and 7 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 5 different clubs took part.

This weeks event was made possible by our fantastic volunteer team consisting of:

Volunteering is part of parkrun. We would love to see new faces helping out. We still need more volunteers to step forward for our next events so please consider helping us out in order to make East Coast Park parkrun a success. Everyone who volunteers gets a terrific buzz from being part of an instant team working like clockwork to bring a parkrun to life. Volunteering is a great way to meet fellow parkrunners. There are two ways to indicate your intention to volunteer in coming weeks. First, you can approach any of our volunteers with orange bibs at the start/finish area and we will write down your details in our register. Alternatively, you can check out the on the East Coast Park parkrun website and then send an email to with the dates you can help out and any preference you have for a volunteering role.

Sharing East Coast Park with Friends
Runners, walkers, dogs, and cyclists all share the marvellous paths at East Coast Park and surrounds. Ensure you stay to the left and be courteous to other users of this beautiful park.

A reminder that there are no water fountains at East Coast Park in close vicinity to the start. Please bring your own water bottle to store at the meeting point which can be refilled at the toilet block or bring some change to use the vending machine there.

PLEASE Bring Your PRINTED Barcode: NO barcode = NO result = NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please bring PRINTED barcodes only as unfortunately barcodes on mobile phones cannot always be scanned so will not be accepted. Printed barcodes are used at all our events to record your result.

Five IMPORTANT things to tell potential first timers among your friends:
1. Register and print off a barcode a day or two before your first event. No barcode unfortunately means no time will be recorded.
2. Stick to the left of the path during the event and be mindful of other path users.
3. All parkrunners volunteer. Parkrun relies on volunteers to stage each event.
4. Have fun. You are only competing against yourself. Everyone's a winner at parkrun.
5. ... and don't forget to bring your PRINTED barcode !!
